Welcome to Puerto Rico

Dear I.B.A. Family:

We are very proud and honored of being part of a world-wide known family, where we exchange our different cultures, our best cocktails, our deepest friendships and our bartending knowledge to the international community, taking our profession to a level of perfection.

We would like to give thanks to you all, for providing us the unique opportunity to open our hearts, our minds and our country' soul by welcoming you to our beloved Island. We always had a dream and that dream will come true on October 5-10, 2008, when the 57th IBA Meeting will take place in Puerto Rico, and we will have all of you as guests in our country. We will share with you our delicious cocktails, our Caribbean weather, our warm beaches, our shinny sun and most of all our Puerto Rican hospitality and our unforgettable gastronomic experience. That's a promise.

Following our dream, we want to invite you to participate in the best Classic and Flair Bartenders' competitions around the world, created by the IBA to project to the world the image of the powerful professional organization we are. Your guild members must be present in this unique activity, because in this events we exchange ideas, proposals, trend information about our trade, and best of all, we allow each one of you to express your ideas and beliefs on how to improve our bartending skills and creating a professional culture for the beverage industry.

We are very happy, because you will be visiting San Juan, Puerto Rico, were you will fi nd a lot of historical back- ground and you will fi nd out why Christopher Columbus named our island Rich Port and the key to the Caribbean Antilles.

Finally, we hope that each one of you will not miss this opportunity to enjoy another Grand Event of the IBA family. We are all looking forward to meeting all of you in October 2008 in Puerto Rico, and remember, that the bartender profession is the most exciting working class around the world, and we are very proud of it.

In honor of Mr. Edward Rodriguez (1964-2006),
Pan American Champion, 2005.

“En mi mente siempre no lo olvides”...
Always in my mind, don't forget.

My best regards to all and... Cheers!
