FINLAND'S BARTENDER AND SUPPORTER'S CLUB (F.B.S.K.)
F.B.S.K. was established in August 1954 at the Hotel Kämp.
It's purpose is to maintain and improve the professional skills of the
bartenders as well as add the appreciation of the profession. F.B.S.K.
wants to develop working conditions and build national and
international relationships within the branch.
There are almost 600 members (2005) around Finland and every year we have around 50 student members. Supporters, such as alcohol agencies, we have roughly 70.
In order to gain the F.B.S.K. membership a restaurant professional
first signs up as a studentmember. This way he agrees to take the test
of active membership whitin two years. Active membership test has to be
passed acceptably. The test equals with the Bartender II degree
vocational examinatio.
F.B.S.K is active and its membership is valued. We take care of our
members professional skills by arranging multiple education occasions
and field trips to distinguished places. We also serve as consultants
to supporters, restaurants and schools.
F.B.S.K. is no secret society. Every year we arrange FinnBar -trade fair (Photo Gallery >>>) and National Cocktail Competition (Photo Gallery >>> Fancy Drink 2005) which are aimed for professionals. Grand Cocktail Festival
is open to the public.
National Championships are given in two range: making a
drink and flair tending. The winners represent Finland in W.C.C. around
the world. Also the best technical performance is awarded in F.C.C.
