Welcome to World Cocktail Competitions



The Finnish Bartenders’ Association welcomes you to the 54th International Bartenders’ Association’s meeting in Helsinki 19th – 24th October.

I.B.A. (The International Bartenders´ Association) was established in 1951. Finland has been a member of I.B.A since 1955. F.B.S.K. (The Finnish Bartenders´ and Supporters´ Club) is in the process of organizing I.B.A. 's international conference for a second time. More than 500 participants from over 50 foreign countries will be participating.

I.B.A. 2005 is one of the most important happenings in the world of bartending. The conference will cover, discuss and decide upon important topics affecting the entire bartending community today. But naturally, the highlight of the conference are the competitions. For the very first time, Finland has the honour of hosting the flashy and exciting World Championships in Bartending.

The competitions will be arranged in two series: The World Cocktail Competition, (W.C.C). this year featuring Fancy Drink as the competition drink. Each and every year future classics are created - surely this year won't be an exception!

The second series will be Flairtending, in which the world's top bartenders will compete for the flashiest and most entertaining way to mix drinks! Finland's representatives are, in Flairtending, the Helsinki-based Mika Räisänen, and Harri Törmänen from Turku in the Fancy Drink competition.
